At the age of 5 many heroes to young girls in the 80's were Michael Jackson, Madonna, or if you were Hispanic it was Gloria Trevi, Veronica Castro, Fey and many more Musical Artists. But Olga's was different, its was simply the Beautiful voice that you heard on a daily basis on a Radio Station in Chicago, WIND La Tremenda! Maria Luisa, was her hero! She knew that one day that she wanted to be like her. She knew that one day Radio was going to be her focus and passion in life.
At the early age of 16 She got her start at Radio Jalapeno KEDA under the Davila's where she started as an intern working weekends and learning the ropes under the mentor ship of the late "Mr. Moon" (Alfonso Luna). She landed a position her senior year while she attended Clark High School as an "Air Personality"and was known as the youngest female DJ in the city! She met wonderful well known artists and worked there for over 10 years while getting her college degree for Radio/TV/Film! Under many names given to her through out the years such as "Blanquita Gabanelli", "La Princessa" BrownSugar has been the one name that has hooked and has been her Radio name ever since. Her time at KEDA was ended when she decided to become a full time wife and mommy. Although she missed it and never forgot about Radio, her life was more precious to her being able to raise her children and be alongside her husband! She learned important values during this time and that is to put God first then your family and everything will fall in it's place. Since then, she has worked for promotions for various organizations in town for the Entertainment Industry. Music, Theater/Film.
Film making and Producing is yet another passion of hers and is proud to say that she shares it with her husband. She is "AWED" by the Arts Community in San Antonio!
She gives thanks to Jerry Benavides for giving her the opportunity to once again.....relive her dream of being on the AIR.
She was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana on March 25 and although she is not from here....She is proud to be an "Honorary" Texan.
Tune in to "The Morning Breakfast Taco Show" where she Co-Hosts with DJ Double E on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6 to 10 am.From the words of Brown Sugar......BAILAMOS?!?!
